Employee Spotlight: Ken Peach – Kia Service Advisor

Welcome back to our employee spotlights. We hope you are all safe during this crazy time. We recently sat down with Ken Peach Service Advisor at KIA. Ken has been with us for 4 years. Thank you for your years of service.

VanDevere: Hi Ken, Congrats on 4 years. Thank you for your service. Thank you for sitting down and
chatting with us today. What is the best thing about your job?

Ken: I enjoy taking care of our customers.

VanDevere: Awesome. What is the best thing about VanDevere?

Ken: The family environment we have here.

VanDevere: It is a nice feeling. What 3 words would you use to describe VanDevere?

Ken: I would say friendly, happy and welcoming.

VanDevere: That is a nice way to describe it. I am sure the customers appreciate that. Enough about
work. What do you like to do when not at work?

Ken: I really enjoy hanging with my wife and kid.

VanDevere: Same! We do, too. What inspires you?

Ken: Making the customers happy inspires me to do better!

VanDevere:  Fill in the blank: I once met ______________!

Ken: I once met the commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps.

VanDevere: Wow that is pretty cool. If you could pick one superpower what would it be?

Ken: I would like to be able to read people’s minds.

VanDevere: That’s a good one. What is your favorite travel spots?

Ken: My family and I love to visit Fort Meyers, Florida.

VanDevere: The beach is always a good choice. What is your favorite place to eat in Akron.

Ken: It would have to be Taqueria La Loma Mexican Restaurant.

VanDevere: Mmmmm we love Mexican food. Ok, last question, what is your dream car?

Ken: The Dodge HellCat. I love it!

Employee Spotlight: Ben Lawson – Kia Technician

We recently sat down with Kia Technician, Ben Lawson, to congratulate him on 9 years with the company and learn a little about him.  Here is a small peek into Ben.

VanDevere:  Hi Ben, thanks for sitting down with us. Congrats on 9 years with VanDevere. What is the best thing about your job?

Ben: I love fixing things and I enjoy the comradery with my coworkers.

VanDevere:  It definitely has a family vibe around here. What is the best thing about VanDevere?

Ben: The people, I have built some great friendships here.

VanDevere: We hear that a lot in our interviews. What 3 words would you use to describe VanDevere?

Ben: Commitment, Culture and Connect!

VanDevere: We see you follow the 7 C’s here! What do you like to do when no at work?

Ben: I enjoying playing with my kids and having family nights out.

VanDevere:  Good times.  What inspires you?

Ben: Definitely my family!

VanDevere: J Fill in the blank: I once met____________!

Ben: I once met Jerry VanDevere.  He is on TV, so he is famous!

VanDevere:  Ha! Yes he is.  If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

Ben: Teleportation! Then I could skip all the traffic.

VanDevere: Yes, no traffic would be great!  What is your favorite travel spot?

Ben: That would be the family farm in Pennsylvania.

VanDevere: I bet you have lots of good memories of that place.   What is your favorite place to eat?

Ben: Quaker Steak and Lube.

VanDevere: Wings for the win!  OK last question. What is your dream Car?

Ben:  I already have one, the 1965 Corvair but I would love to have a 1965 GTO.

Employee Spotlight: Steve Stewart

This month we sit down with Steve Stewart. He has been with VanDevere for 5 years. If you service at our Downtown Akron location, you may have talked to him about your service appointment. Steve is one of our BDC Service reps who calls to remind customers when they need oils changes and other maintenance on their vehicles. Or he takes your call about needing service. We want to thank Steve for his 5 years!

VanDevere: What is the best think about your job?

Steve: I enjoy working with people.

VanDevere: What is the best thing about VanDevere?

Steve: The quality of my co-workers. Also, Mike and Jerry V. are the best.

VanDevere: What 3 words would you use to describe VanDevere?

Steve: Stability, integrity and honesty

VanDevere: What do you like to do when not at work?

Steve: I love life theater. My favorite place is the Ohio Light Opera in Wooster.

VanDevere: That sounds like a good time. What inspires you?

Steve: Motivational people in my life.

VanDevere: Fill in the blank: I once met ____________!

Steve: Tom Hanks

VanDevere: how cool! How did you meet him?

Steve: It was actually at the Ohio Light Opera. Back before he was the guy we know today, he did Shakespeare for 3 years.

VanDevere: That is so cool. If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

Steve: Invisibility

VanDevere: Favorite travel spot.

Steve: Virginia Beach.

VanDevere: We have heard good things about that place. What is your favorite place to eat?

Steve: Don Quixote in Canal Fulton

VanDevere: Ok, last question. What is your dream car?

Steve: The Jetson Mobile, so I wouldn’t have to buy tires!
