First Images of 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe / Suburban

From: https://www.motor1.com/news/380046/chevrolet-tahoe-suburban-december-reveal/

Those who have been waiting for a next-generation Tahoe and Suburban won’t have to wait long. According to a report by the GM Authority, both SUVs will get a full revamp really soon – as in December 10 soon.

Chevrolet is mum about the launch of its biggest cars, with spy shots proliferating everywhere, giving birth to several speculations about the high-riding models. However, the latest report shows that an imminent reveal is up and we’re on the lookout for any teaser by the Golden Bowtie.

As we have reported before and as seen on the photographs sent in by our spies, both the Tahoe and Suburban will be riding on independent rear suspension setup. With that said, Chevy is positioning itself on the same ground as its rivals in the segment, most notably the Ford Expedition.

With an independent suspension in place, the Tahoe and Suburban will both benefit from better ride quality and more cavernous rear space – prominent gripes in the current models. Leaving the live axle setup behind will also benefit handling, which has been a department where the Blue Oval has been triumphing over the Golden Bowtie in the SUV segment.

When it comes to the exterior design, the GM Authority reported that both SUVs will have a new fascia (of course) and lighting configurations (again, of course). But the most prominent part of the report was the inclusion of front air curtains for better fuel efficiency.

With the introduction of revamped versions of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL will probably take place shortly since they share the same platform. Speaking of platform, the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban are expected to ride on the GM T1 ladder-frame platform – most prominently used on the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra.

More Information: 2020 Buick Encore GX

From: https://media.buick.com/media/us/en/buick/home.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2019/may/0529-encore.html

When the Encore GX arrives in early 2020, Buick will offer four premium SUVs across the three segments customers are shopping in most: small, compact and midsize. The Encore GX will be positioned between the smaller Encore and the larger Envision and Enclave models. It will offer new standard safety technologies* and its style and functionality will be just right for many of today’s buyers.

“As we look to the future of Buick, the Encore GX positions us strongly as a consideration for those who want to purchase small or compact SUVs,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC.

Today, almost 90 percent of U.S. Buick sales come from SUVs.

The Encore GX’s new standard safety and driver assistance features will include Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. It will also offer the Enclave’s innovative Rear Camera Mirror, which provides a wide, less obstructed rear view while parking and driving, and High Definition Surround Vision camera system.

Its spirited and efficient performance will be paired with a purposefully designed cargo space that’s almost 5 cubic feet larger than the Encore and about 3 cubic feet smaller than the Envision.

Product specifications and pricing will be announced when the Encore GX begins arriving at U.S. dealers.

Is There Going To Be A New Kia Borrego?

From: https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1124550_kia-reveals-new-mohave-is-a-borrego-coming-too

Kia on Wednesday revealed a redesigned Mohave, a mid-size SUV whose predecessor was briefly sold in the United States late last decade as the Borrego.

There isn’t any indication that the redesigned Mohave is destined for local sale, but given the consumer trend toward crossovers and SUVs we wouldn’t be surprised if the vehicle ends up here as a little brother to the Telluride.

The six-lug wheel design suggests more ruggedness and off-road capability than your typical Kia, something which could set this SUV apart from the family-oriented Telluride. There are also chunky fog lights and fixed running boards, which once again suggest a vehicle for active lifestyles.

Underpinning the redesigned Mohave is thought to be an updated version of the body-on-frame platform found in the outgoing model. It enables rear- and four-wheel-drive configurations.

A “V6 3.0” badge on the tailgate suggests the vehicle will be offered with the 3.0-liter diesel fitted to the outgoing model. The outgoing model’s 3.8-liter V-6 will also likely be offered, though don’t count on its 4.6-liter V-8 being offered too.

Unfortunately, Kia hasn’t released any information on its redesigned Mohave. We’ll bring you an update as soon as more is known.
