Here we are again, sitting down with one of our team members to learn more about them. We love learning about our team! This month we are talking to Amy Groves, one of our accountants for all locations. Amy has been with the company for over 15 years now. We sat down and gave Amy our usual “spotlight” questions and here is what we learned…
VanDevere: Hi Amy, thank you for taking the time to sit with us. We will start off easy… What is the best thing about your job?
Amy: Knowing that what I do helps others and keeps the electric on and the waters running!
VDV: You are an essential part of our team! Keeping this place up and running day to day with the entire office team. What is the best thing about VanDevere?
Amy: The way the employees are cared for and the family atmosphere.
VDV: We all take care of each other and each department depends on each other. It is a great feeling to be in a workplace that feels like home. In three words, how would you best describe VanDevere?
Amy: Family, Caring, Fun!
VDV: All very true! What do you like to do when you are not at work?
Amy: I like to play board games and card games with family and friends
VDV: I love playing board games and card games as well! Clue and Euchre are my personal favorites. I am starting to learn the ins and outs of Canasta as well. What inspires you?
Amy: When I know I have helped someone and made them smile
VDV: That is a great attitude to have. Even a small gesture like making a family member, friend, or stanger smile can go a long way. Fill in the blank: I once met….
Amy: David Phelps who is a Christian singer and Mark Lowry who is a Christian comedian and singer
VDV: How cool! It is always fun to meet people that you watch on TV or sing along to their music. Where is your favorite place to travel?
Amy: Visiting my family in West Virginia
VDV: It is always fun to visit family out of state. You get to have a mini vacation, try new local places to eat and more! Now, do you have a favorite place to eat?
Amy: Amish Country
VDV: There are so many fantastic foods from Amish Country! A big thank you to you, Amy, for taking the time to talk with us today. We appreciate your hard work over the past 15 years of employment with The Vandevere Bunch!
