Employee Spotlight: Andrea Byer – Reconditioning Dept.

This month’s employee spotlight is Andrea Byer. She is a in our Buick/Kia Reconditioning department. Andrea has been with VanDevere for 11 years. In celebration of her anniversary and all she does for the company, we sat down with her for our Employ Spotlight.

VanDevere: Andrea, congrats on 11 years! And thank you for your dedication. What is the best thing about your job?

Andrea: The ability to have a flexible part time schedule so I can spend more time with my family.

VanDevere: That is awesome. What is the best thing about VanDevere?

Andrea: It is a family-oriented company.

VanDevere: We have heard that before. What 3 words describe VanDevere?

Andrea: Enthusiastic, committed and integrity.

VanDevere: Enough about work, what do you like to do when not working?

Andrea: I enjoy spending time with my family, learning new things, creating art work, knitting, hiking, taking care of our chickens, and beekeeping.

VanDevere: Wow sounds like you have a lot to keep you busy when not at work. What inspires you?

Andrea: My kids

VanDevere: It is amazing to watch them grow. Fill in the blank: I once met __________!

Andrea: Bottom line Bender! 

VanDevere: YES!! Great answer. What is your favorite travel spot?

Andrea: I like exploring new places and national parks. Humboldt Redwood and Yellowstone National Park are my favorite so far.

VanDevere: They both seem like they would be beautiful. What is your favorite place in Akron to visit?

Andrea: I like taking the kids to the Akron Zoo.

VanDevere: It is a great local place! OK last one, what is your dream car?

Andrea: A new one.

Employee Spotlight: Amy Fisher – Finance Manager

This month we are featuring the newly promoted Amy Fisher. If you have visited our Kia showroom in the past 2 years you have probably seen Amy. She started out as a sales person for our Kia store. She has a big smile and is always positive! Recently, Amy was promoted to finance manager at our VanDevere Buick store. Let’s give Amy a big round of applause.

VanDevere: Hi Amy, congrats on the new position! That is very exciting and you got it only after 2 years of being with VanDevere. Way to go! Speaking of positions here, what is the best thing about your job?

Amy: I love making the customers car dreams come true!

VanDevere: Love it. It does feel good to help others. What is the best thing about VanDevere?

Amy: VanDevere treats their employees like family.

VanDevere: We hear that a lot. What 3 words would you use to describe VanDevere?

Amy: Faith, Family and Integrity.

VanDevere: All part of the VanDevere Mission statement. What do you like to do when not at work?

Amy: well…. Sleep! Hahahah.

VanDevere: LOL we get that. We can all use some more sleep. What inspires you?

Amy: My children are my biggest inspiration. I have 3!

Amy: WWE Wrestler Jake the Snake Roberts!

VanDevere: Oh wow! That is awesome. If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

Amy: To cure illness

VanDevere: Wow that is great, Amy. Such a generous and selfless person. What is your favorite travel spot?

Amy: I don’t have one, yet! I haven’t traveled much but I did love visiting Niagara Falls!

VanDevere: It is a beautiful location. What is your favorite local place to eat?

Amy: Well anyone that knows me knows I love ALL food.

VanDevere: YES! We agree. Ok last question, what is your dream car!

Amy: It is a 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback. I will have on someday.

VanDevere: Oh yes, a gorgeous car! We know you will. Thank you for your time, Amy and congrats!
