CUSTOMERS SELECT CHEVROLET LOW CAB FORWARD FOR EXCELLENT CAPABILITY AND SERVICE

DETROIT – Harmony Outdoor Power Equipment in Auburn, Indiana, is the first small business to take delivery of the new Chevrolet Low Cab Forward truck.

Owner Don Harter said he replaced his Isuzu NPR with a Chevrolet Low Cab Forward partly because the lack of Isuzu dealerships in the area made it difficult for him to service his old truck.

“Now that Chevrolet is in the Low Cab Forward business, I can consolidate my business with one company for sales and service,” said Harter. “It makes our entire organization more efficient.”

Harter chose a diesel powertrain to pull a custom-designed bed with a ramp. The business uses the truck nearly every day to deliver heavy outdoor equipment to customers, and with more than 5,000 miles on the Low Cab Forward already, the investment is paying off.

“My drivers love how this truck maneuvers like a car and they also appreciate the quiet ride in the cab,” said Harter. “We are already seeing significantly improved fuel economy with the new Chevrolet Low Cab Forward, which makes it a great choice from a financial perspective.”

The Chevrolet Low Cab Forward with a diesel engine starts at $48,375 and the gasoline engine version starts at $40,900. Low Cab Forward suggested MSRPs include a destination charge but exclude tax, title, license and dealer fees. Harter ordered his Chevrolet from Summit City Chevrolet, one of more than 250 Chevrolet dealerships across the country that sell and service Low Cab Forward trucks.

“Our dealers have gone through rigorous sales and service training to ensure they can help customers pick the right truck, the right financing and upfit for their business,” said John Schwegman, director of commercial product, General Motors Fleet. “Our sales and service support doesn’t end at the dealership. We support our customers throughout the life cycle of the vehicle with a dedicated team of 42 product specialists at our Fleet Action Center. They are consultants and problem-solvers focused exclusively on small-business owners and fleet managers.”

Harter took advantage of a new GM Financial commercial lease product called Right TRAC that can lower monthly payments with flexible residuals and no excess mileage and wear-and-tear charges.

“Any time we can save money on an investment, we’re going to do it,” said Harter. “The Right TRAC lease option went a long way in helping us make our decision to switch to Chevrolet for the Low Cab Forward.”

2018 ZR1 Chevrolet

The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 is coming, and based on these new spy photos the biggest, baddest, and most aggressive road-car Chevrolet has ever built is nearly finished. We’ve seen spy photos for months now, with each new batch showing off more and more of the car. These new photos give us our best view yet.

Every test vehicle we’ve seen so far has been covered in camouflage. That’s still true here, but rather than loose fitting covers we have more revealing swirl wrap. For the first time, we can get a good look at the bulging hood and the reworked front end, complete with a massive, ankle gouging splitter. Chevrolet, no stranger to fantastic track-focused machines, seems to be filling the void left by the soon departed Dodge Viper ACR.

The big hood is likely hiding a supercharger larger than the 1.7-liter version found under the hood of the current Z06. Remember, the last generation ZR1 featured a 2.3-liter supercharger. We estimate the engine will be cranking out more than 700 horsepower and will breathe through those massive air intakes in the front bumper.

These new photos show a line of cars out on public roads. It seems Chevrolet is testing a few aero packages, so expect something similar to the Z07 Performance Package to be available on the new ZR1. The new car looks nearly finished, so get ready to see a final production version as soon as the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.

DETROIT – Five Chevrolet vehicles led their segments in the J.D. Power 2016 Initial Quality Study. No other brand has more J.D. Power Initial Quality awards than Chevrolet — for the fourth consecutive year. This follows the brand’s strong showing in the 2016 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, where Chevrolet also had more models ranked highest in its segments than any other brand.“These results play two critical roles in our strategy to bring new retail buyers to the brand,” said Alan Batey, Global Chevrolet president. “First, the study results will help attract new buyers to Chevrolet, as J.D. Power data shows ‘expected reliability’ is customers’ top purchase consideration for a new vehicle. Second, the improved ownership experience of our new vehicles will help convert first-time Chevrolet buyers into repeat customers, as J.D. Power indicates customers who have a positive experience in the first 90 days of ownership are more likely to become repeat buyers for the brand.”Chevrolet’s focus on the customer has fueled a 3 percent gain in retail sales for the first five months of 2016. In the same period, Chevrolet’s share of the retail sales grew 0.6 percentage points, making Chevrolet the fastest growing full-line brand in the industry.Chevrolet segment awards in the 2016 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study include:

  • Silverado swept the full-size truck categories, with the Silverado 1500 receiving the top marks for light-duty trucks and the Silverado HD receiving the top marks for heavy-duty trucks.
  • Equinox led the compact SUV segment (in a tie), with study results that were 15 points better than the segment average.
  • Tahoe lead the large SUV segment, with study results that were 19 points above the segment average.
  • Finally, the Spark dominated the city car segment, with study results that were 48 points higher than the segment average.

The study, now in its 30th year, examines problems experienced by vehicle owners during the first 90 days of ownership. Initial quality is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The 2016 U.S. Initial Quality Study is based on responses from more than 80,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2016 model-year vehicles surveyed after 90 days of ownership. The study is based on a 233-question battery organized into eight problem categories designed to provide manufacturers with information to facilitate the identification of problems and drive product improvement. The study was fielded from February through May 2016.For more information about the 20
