Here we are again, sitting down with one of our team members to learn more about them. We love learning about our team! This month we are talking to Holly Dawe, a Cashier at our Chevrolet location. Holly has been with the company for almost 1 year now. We sat down and gave Holly our usual “spotlight” questions and here is what we learned…
VanDevere: Hi Holly, thank you for taking the time to sit with us. We will start off easy… What is the best thing about your job?
Holly: I am very fortunate to work with awesome people who make each day fun. I also love, as a cashier, being able to interact with people in multiple departments.
VDV: Our team is great! Working together makes it feel a little less like “work”. What is the best thing about VanDevere?
Holly: The sense of family and overall support we have for each other within the company.
VDV: I agree! We have fun employee events, support each other’s families with giving back to their schools, clubs, teams, etc. It is a great place to work. In three words, how would you best describe VanDevere?
Holly: Exciting, Family, Uplifting
VDV: Uplifting is a great word for our team. We all take care of one another, encourage each other, as well as challenge each other so we continue to grow. What do you like to do when you are not at work?
Holly: I have an 11 and a 4 year old daughter who keep me on my toes. We spend most of our free time at the barn with our horses. On the weekends you can usually find us at a horse show or outside working on the farm
VDV: Being with family is always the best. A farm will keep you busy as well. What/who is your biggest inspiration?
Holly: To be honest these days, my oldest daughter is my biggest inspiration. She has and continues to overcome so many obstacles. She never gives up on pursuing her dreams no matter what anyone says. I admire her resilience and it always pushes me to be the best mom I can.
VDV: You must be a proud mom to watch her grow up and complete her goals. What a great inspiration and she sounds like a superstar! Speaking of stars, have you ever met someone famous?
Holly: Tara Lipinski! She was my idol growing up as a figure skater.
VDV: It is always so fun to meet someone you admire and look up to. Since we had the superpower of ice skating, what would your superpower be?
Holly: Invisibility
VDV: I would not mind that power also! It would be very useful. What is your favorite travel spot?
Holly: Maine
VDV: I have always wanted to go! I heard the summer or fall is the best time and you are able to see so much. Do you have a favorite place to eat?
Holly: Anywhere with sushi or seafood
VDV: I completely agree. Maine would be the perfect place for that! Lastly, since we are in the car business, what is your dream vehicle?
Holly: 1976 Chevelle SS candy apple red with black race stripes
