Kia unveiled the all-electric 2024 EV9 SUV for the first time in North America at the 2023 New York International Auto Show. As the first three-row EV SUV from Kia, the EV9 is the flagship of the global Plan S strategy, as well as a pioneer in its segment and the automotive industry.

“With the launch of the EV9, we are incorporating our experience in producing brilliantly designed, best-in-class SUVs with our deep expertise in developing the industry’s leading EVs,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO, Kia North America and Kia America. “The EV9 is a credible, high-value SUV that encapsulates our approach to bringing innovative, consumer-focused products to market with a serious commitment to electrification.”

The EV9 is a beacon that points to the future of an electrified lineup for Kia as a mobility leader. Building on Kia’s reputation of delivering vehicles with segment-above excellence, the EV9 brings the three-row SUV into the EV era with available features that matter most: generous interior volume and cargo space, towing capability, leading vehicle dynamics, rich interior appointments, and fast charging capability. Inside and out, the EV9 exemplifies the Kia design philosophy of “Opposites United,” which masters the creative tension generated by the divergent values of nature and modernity to create a harmonious whole.

Developed on the proven E-GMP architecture dedicated to electric vehicles with fourth-generation battery technology, the EV9 enhances space with seating for up to seven passengers, with a long wheelbase and flat floor that provide both flexibility and comfort for all. Through integration of some of the latest in-vehicle technology, vehicle system over-the-air updates, ultra-wideband-based Digital Key, and Onboard Power Generator (V2L) functionality, the EV9 is enabled to continue to evolve throughout the ownership experience. The EV9’s standard 800V electrical architecture enables ultrafast recharging on high-speed DC chargers, designed to go from a 10 to 80 percent state of charge in under 25 minutes. The EV9 is expected to arrive in the United States in Q4 2023.

Employee Spotlight: Brian Gregory

Here we are again, sitting down with one of our team members to learn more about them. We love learning about our team! This month we are talking to Brian Gregory, a lot supervisor at our Buick and Kia locations. Brian has been with the company for over 20 years now. We sat down and gave Brian our usual “spotlight” questions and here is what we learned!

VanDevere: Hi Brian, thank you for taking the time to sit with us. We will start off easy… What is the best thing about your job?

Brian: My team. Working with the guys and the whole department.

VDV: I agree, this bunch is awesome! What are 3 words you would use to describe VanDevere?

Brian: Amazing, fun, caring

VDV: These are all so very true. It feels like we have a fun activity happening everyday! Never a dull moment at VanDevere. Also, I love that our core values really show through in the family and fun atmosphere. What do you like to do when you are not at work?

Brian: Hangout with family and friends!

VDV: Nothing is better than that! I cannot wait until it gets a little warmer to do so many more fun activities with my family and friends. What inspires you the most?

Brian: My personal pride

VDV: What a great answer! It is very true and inspiring. Speaking of inspiring people, fill in the blank, once I met….

Brian: Jerry Rice at the Football Hall of Fame!

VDV: How cool! I think it's crazy that the Football Hall of Fame is not that far from us. He really is like a superhero, which reminds me… if you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

Brian: Creating longer days to enjoy or the ability to control time

VDV: I think that is a great superpower! There is so much you could do and see with a power like that. Especially since it feels like there are so many things to do in this world and not enough time to do it. What is your favorite travel spot?

Brian: Bristol, Tennessee

VDV: I have heard that it is a great place to travel to. I will have to make the trip sometime soon. Now, do you have a favorite place to eat?

Brian: Wasabi

VDV: Great choice! My favorite part is when you get to watch them cook it in front of you and the portion sizes are phenomenal. Last question, since we are in the car business, what is your dream car?

Brian: A 1970 Pontiac GTO.

VDV: That is a fun, sporty vehicle! Great choice! A fun bright color would make it even better in my opinion. A big thank you to you, Brian, for taking the time to talk with us today. We appreciate your hard work over the past 20 years of employment with The Vandevere Bunch!

Family Center & Family Enrichment Center

VanDevere Cares: Family Center & Enrichment  Center

For the month of March, this bunch were able to support the Family Center and the Family Enrichment Center. These facilities were created for children and their families to connect, grow, and rebuild relationships.
The VanDevere Bunch gave back 35 hours of service to this amazing organization. Cleaning, sanitizing, building toys, organizing, and creating Easter baskets for the kids were some of the many activities they did while they were there.
Amazing job everyone who signed up and attended. We cannot wait until next months chance to support the community!
