Employee Spotlight – Kyle Dickon

Here we are again, sitting down with one of our team members to learn more about them. We love learning about our team! This month we are talking to Kyle Dickon, a Service Advisor at our Kia location. Kyle has been with the company for over 9 years now. We sat down and gave Kyle our usual “spotlight” questions and here is what we learned…

VanDevere: Hi Kyle, thank you for taking the time to sit with us. We will start off easy… What is the best thing about your job?

Kyle: On my feet, talking to new people everyday

VDV: You do get to meet so many new people everyday. It is one of my favorite things about VanDevere as well. What is the best thing about VanDevere?

Kyle: Super friendly and ready to lend a hand. I made so many new friends over the years.

VDV: I agree, this bunch is awesome! We always help each other out and have so many team events! What are 3 words you would use to describe VanDevere?

Kyle: Family, friendly, good vibes!

VDV: These are all so very true. I love that these are part of VanDevere’s core values towards each other and our customers. What do you like to do when you are not at work?

Kyle: Hangout with friends, run, flip furniture

VDV: Nothing better than being with friends. It’s awesome that you also have a small business getting started in flipping furniture. I think that is a great way to make extra money and be creative! What inspires you the most?

Kyle: Making good relationships, making money to travel and go places

VDV: I would love to travel more with family and friends. It also is good that you have your furniture business to be able to save up for more trips. Speaking of inspiring things, fill in the blank, once I met….

Kyle: Chancy Billops (basketball player)

VDV: How cool! I have never met a famous athlete. It is always exciting to meet someone who is famous. That would be super cool, which reminds me…  if you could pick one superpower, what would it be?

Kyle: Reading minds- always know if someone is telling the truth.

VDV: Honesty is the best policy! That is a great idea for a super power. What is your favorite travel spot?

Kyle: Go everywhere! I want to experience it all. Been out of the country once

VDV: Awesome! You will have to let us know where you travel to. Maybe even take the time to go through multiple states to experience more all at once. Now, do you have a favorite place to eat?

Kyle: Chipotle everyday!!! Dairy queen for desert. Five Guys is the best though.

VDV: I think most people would agree that Chipotle is great. I think Five Guys is also better. Last question, since we are in the car business, what is your dream car?

Kyle: Old school truck or muscle car. 50s style. Blue and wood bed. Baby blue.

VDV: Awesome! That is also mine! I love the color and detail you included as well. I hope you eventually find one that you love. A big thank you to you, Kyle, for taking the time to talk with us today. We appreciate your hard work over the past 9 and a half years of employment with The Vandevere Bunch!

VanDevere Cares – Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park

Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park – Employee Volunteer Opportunity

The VanDevere Bunch hopes everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend! For the month of May, members of our team went to Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park. At the park, they were able to clean the wall, benches and monuments within the park. Everyone worked hard to get it ready for the holiday weekend. In total, they were able to give 15 hours of their time to this incredible organization. This gets us closer to our end of the year goal of 500 service hours!

Here is some more information about what Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park is all about: “… we have added the names of all Ohioans who have given their lives during the War on Terror, including the Beirut Bombing, and are planning on adding the names of our Korean War lost. The park is open 24 hours a day and 365 days a year; we never close to the public and we welcome everyone to visit and pay homage to our war fighters.”

For June, a new group of employees will be going to the National Interstate 8K run on June 24th. They will be passing out waters and showing support to all the runners. Hopefully we will see you all there!

The All New Small SUV From Buick: Envista

From: https://media.buick.com/media/us/en/buick/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2023/apr/0417-envista.html

Buick revealed the 2024 Envista, a new nameplate designed to rethink what a premium vehicle can be in a white space of the small SUV segment. The Envista offers the cargo space and utility of an SUV, packaged inside sporty and sleek proportions typically found in a sedan.

“Buick helped define the small SUV segment in 2012, and we’ve continued to make our offerings even more competitive since. The all-new Envista is going to shake up that segment once again,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president, Buick-GMC. “When you consider all the Envista has to offer, from its stunning design, standard technology and premium affordability, it’s going to be hard to find a better package in that area of the market.”

The Envista will be one of the most affordable SUVs in the segment, yet it will still come standard with high-quality materials, design and technologies. Starting at $23,4951, it is a premium crossover designed to attract migrating sedan owners, young professionals and small families to the Buick portfolio.

The Envista will come in three distinct trims, each with their own unique personality: Preferred, Sport Touring (ST) and Avenir. This offering expands the popular, luxurious Avenir sub-brand across Buick’s entire portfolio.
